Built to Handle the Heat (and the Cold)
The HVAC industry knows that downtime is a no-go. When the AC or furnace is out, it’s automatically an emergency situation. Whether you’re dealing with rooftop units baking in the sun, exhaust systems churning day and night, or aging cooling towers running nonstop in summer, you need HVAC belts that don’t flinch under pressure. That’s where we come in.
At V Belt Supply, we know HVAC. We stock the air conditioning belts, exhaust fan belts, cooling belts, and AC blower belts that keep your systems moving and your clients comfortable. These aren’t off-the-shelf hardware store belts—these are industrial-grade belts built for real-world conditions.
Find the right replacement belts for your HVAC applications
The Demands of HVAC Systems
From the blower motors in air handlers to fan drives on condensers and cooling towers, HVAC applications ask a lot from a belt. We’re talking wild temperature swings, constant start-stop cycles, and all the grime that comes with rooftop or mechanical room installs. That’s why our HVAC belts are engineered to take a beating and keep on spinning.
We carry a range of styles to match your setup:
- Classic V-Belts – A go-to for many standard HVAC applications. Reliable, cost-effective, and easy to source.
- Cogged V-Belts – Ideal for smaller pulleys and tighter spaces. Their added flexibility makes them great for more compact or intricate systems.
- Banded Belts – Designed for heavy-duty or multi-belt drives, these belts resist twisting and slippage under load, reducing vibration and wear.
The Right Belt for Your HVAC Belt Applications
We stock belts for just about every component in the system:
- Air Conditioning Belts–For compressors, blowers, and fans in packaged or split systems.
- Exhaust Fan Belts–Durable and built to handle continuous airflow in commercial ventilation systems.
- Cooling Tower Belts–Used in chillers and cooling towers where performance can’t lag—even on the hottest day.
- AC Fin Fan Belts–Keeps indoor air moving, essential for comfort and proper air exchange.
- Stack Belts – Used in exhaust stacks and air discharge systems, these belts power fans that push air out efficiently, even under high static pressure conditions.
- Condenser Belts – Designed for condenser fan motors, these belts keep outdoor units running cool by ensuring reliable airflow over the coils, essential for proper system function, especially in peak summer heat.
Whether you’re dealing with an emergency repair or stocking up for routine maintenance, we’ve got what you need—in stock and ready to ship.

The HVAC industry commonly uses the following v-belt sizes:
Classical/Traditional Belts
- A-section (1/2" top width) — light-duty fans and blowers
- B-section (21/32" top width) — the most common in HVAC, used on most residential and light commercial air handlers and condensing units
- C-section (7/8" top width) — larger commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
Fractional Horsepower (FHP) Belts
- 2L, 3L, 4L, 5L sizes — very common in residential equipment (furnaces, small air handlers). The 4L is particularly prevalent in residential HVAC.
Narrow/Wedge Belts
- 3V, 5V, 8V — used on larger commercial/industrial systems where higher power transmission is needed in a smaller package
Most Common Sizes in Practice
- 4L460, 4L500 — extremely common in residential furnaces and air handlers
- A38–A55 range — typical on residential and light commercial units
- B45–B75 range — common on commercial rooftop units and larger air handlers
The B-section and 4L (FHP) belts dominate the residential and light commercial market, while C-section and 3V/5V belts are more typical in larger commercial and industrial HVAC applications. Many manufacturers are also moving toward cogged or notched versions of these same sizes for improved efficiency and flexibility.
